Hink Pinks

January 9th,

Today we played a new game called Hink Pink.  This game helps build vocabulary skills.  A Hink Pink is an answer to a clue or riddle.  The answer must be a pair of one syllable words that rhyme.

Here are some that we did together….

      The Clue                                                     The Hink Pink
 a translucent drop                                             clear tear

a friendly grain                                                   nice rice

a large feline                                                       fat cat

Here are some Hink Pinks the students made up.  See if you can solve them.

1) a colourful vegetable   (by Jerzey, Denon, and Kaizen)

2) maple ham  (by Jerzey, Denon, and Kaizen)

3) the sun   (by Tyler, Huddy, and Chelsea)

4) keeps you safe in the dark ( by Liam, Maya, Amber, and Michael)

5) an angry person (by Julia, London, and Maseeka)

6) a fun game         (by Julia, London, and Maseeka)
